The high point, literally and metaphorically is the pass near Ballaghacahreen with fine views in both directions.
Below this is the little quay at Cummeen. A picturesque spot with a bit of a Cornish feel to it.
Once you get beyond Allihies and head down towards Billeragh and Dursey Island, the countryside begins to feel very remote.
Given that the rest of the Beara Peninsula could hardly be described as a teeming metropolis, this is quite a clever trick.
