The Wooly Monkey Sanctuary is a very special place, where humans and monkeys look after each other in a caring community perched on wooded cliffs to the east of Looe.
Both males and females roam freely through the woods, often accompanied by a male Woolly Monkey. The female monkeys prefer to stay in the enclosures looking after the children.
The eventual aim is, or at least was at the time of our visit, to ship all the monkeys back to South America, so visit this beautiful and peaceful spot while you still can. Like the Eden Project, it can change the way you look at the world.
Check the Monkey Sanctuary's website for opening times etc.
