Hartsop and Pasture Bottom

A peaceful spot. When we were there the nightlife in Hartsop seemed to revolve around the phone box in the village. With the advent of mobile phones I suspect that even this venue has lost some of its allure.

There is a pleasant stroll to be had up Pasture Bottom, past old mining sites and up into the wild fells. This path eventually leads over Park Fell Head and down into Trout Beck, but that is definitely a hike not a stroll.
