Strolling Guide

I've now updated the main article to read 'tin ore' instead of 'silver lead ore'

Oh well, at least I was right about the arsenic. Perhaps I was getting confused with the similar structures in the Mendips. Thanks for pointing this out.

There was no silver or lead at Botallack. The calciner was purely for cleaning the tin ore of arsenic and sulphur. Arsenic oxide was passed through the labyrinth to condense (sublime) and was eventually put into barrels either for sale or for further processing. The present labyrinth was built in 1908 but the mine did not produce any arsenic during this period of working (1906-1914).

Many Thanks.
