I came to Mürren in 1990 to spend a winter season and it has turned into a long one! I am sorry to hear that you chose to visit Mürren in the summer of 2006. Due to some of the land sliding, the funicular last its licence to run and had to be replaced by a cable car from Lauterbrunnen to Mürren. Since the cable car was not running we experienced an exceptionally poor summer. Since the new cable car has started to run, Mürren is up and running again and thriving. 2007 was our best summer in years and last winter broke all records with great snow and more guests than ever. The peace and quiet along with the views are the most wonderful I have ever experienced. We will be opening a new cliff walk from Mürren to Gimmelwald on 15th June 2008 (www.klettersteig-muerren.ch the english version should be up and running in the next two weeks) this is not for those scared of heights. You are attached to a cable and walk along near the edge of the cliff, at the end near Gimmelwald you can walk over the nepal bridge which looks down over 1000ft (the bridge is only with a guide) Alan Ramsay Eiger Guesthouse Mürren + 41 33 856 54 60
